what does the mouth say
POTUS #45, originally "Misinterpreted", was born out of a Brown + RISD + MIT Media Lab workshop focusing on Human-Computer Interaction. My partner, whose background was in art and linguistics, and I were interested in how words often get completely lost in translation.
POTUS #45 was created using a giant, mouth puppet, a blow sensor, a metal pipe-funnel from Home Depot, latex, acrylic paint, and an Arduino kit. When a visitor blows on the sensor, the squishy puppet physically opens its mouth and shouts nonsensical phonemes.
